How do I become a member of Thecommitted.net?
You must have a valid e-mail account in order to register as a member. That's it! Please note that if you supply an e-mail address from hotmail, AOL, MSN, yahoo, etc, the auto-generated e-mail with your password may go to your junk mail or SPAM folders! Check there FIRST if you do not receive an e-mail within 30 minutes of signing up before trying again.
What is a donating member?
Unfortunately, this website got too popular to stay with our old, cheap web hosts, and in April 2004, I was forced to get a large-capacity dedicated server for $59 a month to keep the site online for everyone. New videos and mp3's are made available to all members, free of charge. If you are able to donate an annual fee of $5 to help with the server costs, you will also be able to request videos from my large library. You may donate via the Paypal button on the left side of the site, or by sending cash (US$ or euro) via postal mail. Once you have donated, I will upgrade your site status which will allow you to access the Video Requests section of the Forum. There you will find you a special user name and password to use for downloading the password-protected videos.
How do I download the files?
To download files, use your mouse to "Right-Click" on the words "Download Now" -- NOT on the file name. In the menu choose: "Save Target As..." Point the download to a directory on your computer that is easy to remember. Click "OK" or "Save" Voila! Kick back and enjoy the show! See below about using download managers if you have trouble downloading complete files.
Why does the file sound choppy when I click on the link?
This happens when you have not actually "downloaded" the file to your computer. Always right click to download the file, and then play it from your computer. The "choppy" effect happens when you play the file directly from our internet web server.
Why is it taking so long to download?
The files available on this site can be very large and could take 2 hours for a normal performance video if you are using a dial-up modem. If you have DSL or cable and downloads are slow, the server is likely overloaded. Please try again later when fewer members are online. The best times to download are 10pm-8am UK time (5pm-3am US Eastern time).
Why did my download stop before it was complete?
This is a common server problem which happens more often when more members are online downloading. We can't tell you exactly why it happens, but to fix it you should always download files using a program called a "Download Manager". Two to check out are GetRight or FlashGet (if you need more than English language support), which are in our Links section. Or, look for others at www.google.com.
Can I link to TheCommitted.net?
Of Course!! You can also use the link at the bottom of every page to Recommend This Site. Please do NOT direct link to any of our media files, however. If you wish to share them with your site's members, either upload to your own web space or send them to this site.
What about linking to my Westlife fan site?
We encourage everyone to provide a link to their website in their profile. You may also post these to our "links" section. This increases visibility for your hard work, and provides a great community for us to share information.
